Since 1935, a perfect day along Jones Beach’s seaside boardwalk ends at its outdoor theater. Originally a wooden stadium built over the water, in the 1930s and 40s, Jones Beach Theater hosted water circuses, boat races, and synchronized swimmers. In 1952, a permanent amphitheater opened as the summertime setting for aquatic Broadway musicals filled with oversized floating scenery, star-studded orchestras, and performers belting from boats.

Starting with Eric Clapton in 1983, the summer lineup shifted to over-the-top concerts. Over the decades, hundreds of artists from all genres have taken to Jones Beach Theater’s seaside stage, entertaining millions of dedicated Long Island fans.

Jones Beach Theater draws from a heavily concentrated Long Island fanbase of over 7.7 million. Over the last 5 years, 73% of total ticket sales come from adjacent Nassau and Suffolk counties. Without directly competing for Manhattan fans, the amphitheater offers the opportunity of back-to-back nights at other tristate area venues while limiting travel.

Tour Parking

We’ve optimized the ingress and egress for tour buses and trucks, doubling the capability for trucks to unload and load simultaneously. The parking layout has also been improved, conveniently located near the backstage area, now with room for 10 buses.

As artists step off the tour bus, they will be greeted by the private Jones Beach Club.

The private beach serviced by a dedicated Jones Beach lifeguard and a beach attendant.

Artists can relax on the beach in hammocks and Adirondack chairs or enjoy the water on the venue’s paddle boards, kayaks and more.

A dog park is located steps from the beach.

Additionally, Jones Beach State Park offers access to a boardwalk, additional beaches, swimming pools and cafes.
